WWE RAW Results (9/6) - Bryan/Miz, Five Pack Challenge?

WWE Raw Results September 6th, 2010

RAW Opening Segment:

Nexus is in the ring as RAW goes on the air, and Barrett says it is fitting that they are in Washington D.C., and he says the single handedly destroyed the Undertaker. Otunga says that should put the rumors of their weakness to rest, and Tarver says if anyone could do what they did, they would sit back and savor that moment, but not them. They finished the night by taking out 5 of the top WWE superstars. Slater says what happened next, is he pinned the WWE Champion, and he repeats it for the people in the "cheap seats." Gabriel says he did something more impressive, he delivered his finishing move to Undertaker and John Cena in the same night, and not many people can say they did that.

Gabriel says every time he hits Cena with the 450 it gets better, and Cena can see him, crushing him over and over. Barrett says he devenomized the Viper by pinning Randy Orton, and that is just a taste to come when he wins the title at Night of Champions. He says it will be historic and groundbreaking, and it will be... he gets interrupted by Orton. Orton says he took out two of them in less than 30 seconds, and they don't need footage for that, because he will just do it again. Orton says it doesn't matter who he pins, but he will make it his business to hit Barrett with an RKO. Barrett says that sounds real tough, but maybe he should come and try to hit him with it right now.

Cole interrupts with an email, and the GM says it was a historic night for Nexus as a unit, but tonight they will see how they do alone. Gabriel will face Cena tonight, and in addition, Orton will face Barrett, and to insure the fairness of the matches, Nexus is banned from ringside tonight.

Chris Jericho comes out for a match and his entrance gets interrupted by a GM email. Cole says Jericho and Edge will see consequences for their actions in the main event last week. If they don't win their matches tonight, they will be removed from the Six Pack Challenge at Night of Champions! Jericho flips out and tells Cole to tell him who the GM is, and Cole introduces John Morrison as his opponent.

Chris Jericho vs John Morrison

Jericho attacks before the bell then throws him into the ropes but Morrison gets a quick rollup for two. Jericho with a forearm shot and he throws Morrison over the top rope to the outside, then screams to Cole to tell him who the GM is. He goes after Morrison on the outside as we go to a commercial break.

When we return, Jericho has Morrison in a headlock, and hits a side suplex and a knee to the ribs. Morrison floats out of another suplex attempt and hits a backbreaker for two. He kicks Jericho, then spins out of a Walls attempt, but Jericho knocks him down and tries a Lionsault. Morrison moves and hits a flash kick, then holds the ropes to block a Codebreaker. Jericho hits an enziguiri, and slams Morrison's head into the mat then screams at him in the corner.

Morrison avoids a shoulder by Jericho, and goes up top, but misses Starship Pain, and Jericho locks in the Walls in the middle of the ring. Morrison crawls towards the ropes and Jericho argues with the ref after breaking the hold. Jericho pulls Morrison up to the top turnbuckle but gets shoved off and Morrison hits Stairship Pain for the win! Jericho is out of the Six Pack Challenge!

Winner - John Morrison

Jericho slowly gets up and is upset at what just happened. He leaves the ring and sits on the ring steps before finally walking to the back, and he is getting cheers and a Y2J chant.

Divas Championship

Melina vs Alicia Fox

Alicia says she has bad news, and Melina won't be competing at Night of Champions. Alicia will become the "undefined" (oops) Divas Champion and does a twirl in the ring.

Melina hits a backbody drop then hits a running kick and Alicia rolls out of the ring. Melina brings her back in and slaps her fomr the apron then hits a crossbody from the top rope for a two count. Alicia trips Melina and kicks her, then slams her head on the mat. Melina avoids her with the Matrix move and hits a dropkick then tries for the Last Call, but Alicia dumps her over the rope. She drags her to the middle of the ring but Melina counters her and hits the Sunset Split and wins the match to retain.

Winner - Melina

Miz is in the backstage area with Josh Mathews and he is standing next to something covered in a black sheet. He says it is perfect, and it is all about the Miz. Everyone will learn about the journey to the road of awesome, and Josh tries to look under the sheet. Miz slaps his hand away and tells him to leave him alone.

Edge is in his locker room with Zack Ryder, and Edge says he saw what just happened to Jericho and he shouldn't have to put up his spot in the Six Pack Challenge. Ryder says he knows where Edge is coming from because he is a former #1 contender, so he wants to be his opponent. Edge says that works because he is an easy win, and doesn't think Ryder is a tool anymore. Ryder says he is right there, but Edge talks into space and asks the GM to make the match. Edge says he knows he is listening, and says he formally accepts Ryder's challenge, so it better happen. Edge says if it doesn't, he will go smash the GM laptop at ringside. Ryder asks if Edge called him a tool, and says that hurt his feelings. Edge just shakes his head and leaves the locker room and Ryder looks bothered by Edge's comments.

Ted DiBiase is in his locker room on his cell phone with someone and says he loves spending time with them, then Maryse asks who he is talking to. Ted says it was his mom, and Maryse says she loved his note she found in the limo. He says he didn't write that and the note might have been intended for him. She gets mad and he says he can't understand her French, then he leaves as she is still speaking.

Justin Gabriel vs John Cena

They lock up in the middle and Cena throws him backwards, then Gabriel puts him in an armbar. Cena rolls through and puts him in a headscissors and slaps him in the stomach. They get back up and stand off again, and Gabriel punches away at Cena in the corner. Cena reverses him in the corner but Gabriel hits an elbow and knocks Cena out of the ring. He brings Cena back in and hits a rolling senton over the top rope for a two count.

Gabriel continues on offense and kicks Cena in the legs then measures him up in the corner and hits a splash. Gabriel follows it with a top rope crossbody, then locks in an armbar submission and uses his leg on the back of Cena's neck for leverage. Cena lifts him up still in the hold but Gabriel hits a gutwrench suplex and goes for a springboard moonsault but misses.

Cena starts to come back with a shoulder block and sitout slam, then hits the Five Knuckle Shuffle. Cena gets him up for the Attitude Adjustment but Gabriel hits a diving STO and kicks Cena in the head. Gabriel goes up for the 450 but Cena cuts him off and he hits the Attitude Adjustment from the middle rope to win the match.

Winner - John Cena

Miz is in the ring and he says people told him he didn't belong in the WWE six years ago. He started at the bottom on Tough Enough, and he heard the voices of everyone asking why he was there, and they told him he should go back to MTV. He refused to cave in to pressure, and he moved on, and he did whatever it took, including becoming the host of Smackdown. The voices stopped asking, and they told him to leave, and said he had no talent and he didn't belong. He still stuck around, and people said he was a sidekick and he was riding Morrison's coattails. He says they did end up splitting, and he became US Champion, but it wasn't good enough for anyone.

He followed that with winning Money In The Bank, and now he can be looked at as the biggest star in the company. He asks for a drumroll, then pulls the sheet off the stand, and he reveals himself on the cover of the new WWE magazine. He says it is a big deal because he dreamed of being on the cover as a child, and now it finally happened. He tells the fans to stand up and admit that they were wrong, because he made it, and he is the poster child. He says they can't deny it or hide from it, and they have no choice to admit it, because he's the Miz and he has earned the right to say he's awesome.

Daniel Bryan comes out to the ring and Miz looks less than thrilled to see him. Bryan introduces himself and says he only came out to congratulate him, because no one thought he would make it either. Miz tells him he hasn't accomplished anything, and Bryan says he is right, and he comes out to generic rock music, and doesn't have Miz's style, and he paid $10 for his haircut.

Bryan says he has to wear his ring gear in the back so he doesn't get thrown out and he already had to show his ID three times. He says if he is anything it's the anti-Superstar and he tells Miz if he faced him for the US title, he could beat him. Miz says he is right, that is a $10 haircut, and asks him what makes him think he is worthy of the US title? Bryan says he is right, because if the match happened, the next magazine might look like this, and he shows Miz a mock up of Miz tapping to Bryan. Bryan isn't out here running his mouth, but he can make him tap and can become the next US Champion.

Miz tells Bryan he has never liked him, and he can annihilate him and will make Bryan want to go back to the indies. Bryan cuts him off and asks for the match and wants an answer. Miz says yes, and Bryan thanks him, but Miz thanks him and takes a swing at him. Bryan puts him in the LaBell Lock but Alex Riley rushes the ring and tries to attack Bryan. Bryan kicks him in the head and puts him in the LaBell Lock while Miz watches on from the ramp. Riley taps out and then Bryan laughs at Miz and kicks the magazine cover off the stand and stares at Miz on the ramp.

Edge waits for the next entrance, and is pissed when he sees the Great Khali come out as his opponent instead of Zack Ryder. He leaves the ring and heads towards the GM laptop, but holds himself back from breaking it and gets back in the ring to start the match.

Edge vs Great Khali

Edge rolls back out of the ring and makes fun of Khali as the referee makes the count. He rolls back in to break the count and goes back outside and gets in Ranjin's face, but Khali grabs him by the hair. Edge gets away and heads towards the ramp and Khali follows him, and Edge kicks Khali in the knee. Edge runs back to the ring and the ref counts to ten as Khali struggles to walk back to the ring.

Winner (by Countout) - Edge

Edge is happy with his actions but he gets interrupted by another GM email. He says the GM refuses to acknowledge Edge's cheap win, and the match will restart, as a no disqualification, over the top rope challenge!

No Disqualification Over The Top Rope Challenge
Edge vs Great Khali

Khali chops Edge in the corner and whips him at the ropes but Edge rolls under the bottom rope and gets out of the ring. (In the biggest bonehead move I have seen in awhile, Khali follows him and gets out of the ring by STEPPING OVER THE TOP ROPE! Cole calls him on it and asks if anyone else saw that, and King plays dumb like it didn't happen.) Khali throws him back in the ring as Cole continues to comment on the situation and asks if the ref was even paying attention, and Lawler tries to smooth it over by saying you have to be "thrown" over the top rope. While this is going on Edge tries a spear but runs into a choke by Khali, and he is thrown outside. Khali once again (really?) tries going over the top rope and this time Edge pulls him out to win the match.

Winner - Edge

Josh Mathews goes up to Chris Jericho in the back and asks him about his comments, when Jericho said if he doesn't become champion he will leave WWE. Mathews says since he is out of the match, he can't become champion and he asks about his future plans. Jericho doesn't say anything and Mathews thanks him for his time, then the camera pans away and John Morrison is sitting next to Jericho. Morrison says 'bad day, huh?' and asks Jericho if he still thinks he is the best in the world and tells him it will get better. Morrison mocks him and asks if he understands what he is saying to him right now, then stares off camera as we go back to the ring.

Sheamus makes his way out for commentary for the main event as we go to our final commercial. When we get back John Cena and Edge are also at the commentator's table to join Sheamus, Cole and Lawler as Barrett and Orton make their entrances.

Wade Barrett vs Randy Orton

Orton punches away at Barrett and whips him into the corner and hits a clothesline. They take the action outside and fight near the announcers and Orton throws Barrett into the table. He unloads on Barrett on the apron then stomps Barrett in the midsection. Orton runs at Barrett but gets hit with a big boot and Barrett punches away at Orton then chokes him on the bottom rope. He follows it by hitting a neckbreaker for two, and puts Orton in a rear choke, then measures up Orton and knocks him down with some right hands. Barrett goes for the Wasteland but Orton counters with a backbreaker, and he starts psyching up and clotheslines Barrett then hits a powerslam. Orton sets up the rope DDT, but Barrett dumps him over the ropes, then new music interrupts the match.

Darren Young comes out to the stage to get Barrett's attention, and he says Barrett won't get away with kicking him out of Nexus and beating him up. Young says he is going to show them why he wasn't the weakest link, but he is the missing link. Young distracts him long enough for Orton to get back in the ring and he hits the RKO to win the match. Orton calls Young in the ring and he RKO's him, then he hits both Edge and Sheamus after they try to attack him. After we see some post match highlights, Cena and Orton have a staredown in the ring as RAW goes off the air.

Winner - Randy Orton
